  • Organizations with a well developed database may choose to maintain a separate database at your school and update the dog data periodically to calculated EBVs
  • Although this approach is much more complex, it is possible and is handled on a case by case basis. Key points for this approach are as follows:
    1. The IWDR dogID needs to be stored in your school’s database and your dog key ID field must be in IWDR
    2. Only dogs owned by your organization can have data updated electronically through the API
    3. Ancestors must be entered into IWDR to complete the pedigree
    4. There are more details and steps related to this type of use of IWDR. Only consider this if you have a robust IT department
