2.4 – Importance of Data Accuracy

Your utmost care is needed to ensure that the data are correct

Extended pedigrees are important for the calculation of coefficients of inbreeding (COI). Genetic diversity is best maintained by choosing mates selected for the ideal qualities and where the resulting puppies will have the lowest COI of the mating options available

In addition, data integrity is critical to accurate calculations of the EBVs. If an ancestor has more than one record, the software calculating the EBVs will treat each record as if it were a different dog

We are in need of people who would volunteer to help research pedigrees in cases where you need assistance. In the meantime, if you do not have the correct information, please scan the pedigree, and indicate which dogs you need help with. Email your request to Jane Russenberger support@iwdr.org
