Barks persistently when alarmed or excited
  • Never or rarely barks when alarmed or excited
  • Occasionally will bark a few times when excited or alarmed
  • Quiets immediately with no intervention needed from the handler and while still in presence of exciting/alarming stimulus
  • Occasionally will bark a few times when excited or alarmed
  • Requires handler direction and/or support to quiet quickly while still in presence of exciting/alarming stimulus
  • Often barks repeatedly when excited or alarmed
  • Typically requires repeated direction and/or support from handler to stop barking while in the presence of an exciting/alarming stimulus
  • Often barks repeatedly when excited or alarmed
  • Will continue to bark as long as the exciting/alarming stimulus is present, despite repeated support from handler and/or efforts to redirect the behavior.
